Delegations
Delegations allow one employee to act on another employee's assigned tasks and created requests within the same organization.
Organization only
Select an organization to view delegations. Owners and Admins can create, change, and remove them; both employees must belong to that organization.
Create a delegation
- Select the organization and open Delegations.
- As an Owner or Admin, start a new delegation.
- In Employee, choose the person whose work needs coverage.
- In Delegate, choose the employee who will act for them.
- Save and check the direction of the relationship.
Both employees must belong to the selected organization. Members can view delegations; Owners and Admins manage them. A delegation does not transfer ownership or grant membership in a different organization.
Work as a delegate
In the workspace picker, choose the organization entry that includes the employee you represent. This selects that employee's work queue. Choosing your own entry continues to show your own work; delegation does not merge the queues.
Refreshing a workspace page restores that selection only while you still have delegated access. Signing out clears the selection.
Open the authorized tasks or requests, review their context, and take the permitted action. The record preserves the actual acting user and employee, allowing the action to be distinguished from one taken by the original assignee.
Delegation direction matters: choosing Alex as the delegate for Sam allows Alex to act for Sam. It does not automatically allow Sam to act for Alex.
Change or remove coverage
Owners and Admins can edit or delete the delegation when coverage changes. Review the saved relationship and ask the delegate to refresh their work list. Removing a delegation does not erase decisions already recorded while it was in effect.
